About to drop my Hilux in there for an analysis of my injectors, just wondering if anyone could give me any feedback about them, my Toyota dealer recommended them for common rail injector analysis. My dealer replaced a faulty injector however I still have problems and I got the distiinct impression the dealer other than the use of their computer don't seem to have expertise in the area of Common Rail Injectors and Pumps etc. Interesting was after speaking to Rankin one of
the brothers had a Hilux like
mine and was
well aware of injector issues that have been a pain for some unlucky Hilux owners, not to mention the Cold Rattle issue which plagued some of the earlier models.
Any feedback would be welcome.

Not only the early ones, I have a D4D that isn't yet 2yo and I have had 2 injectors replaced under warranty and now I have another one that knocks it's head off when warm and it ran out of warranty (100,000km) this morning.
The faults show up best if the vehicle is left overnight and plugged into the computer before being first fired up in the morning.
It may also pay to get them to hot test it when you drop it off for a cold test as different faults can be found.
Cheers
Dave

Have used Geoff & Dave for years - top notch work and your problem will be fixed. As for price, yes I hear they are expensive, but they've always done the right thing by me so I'm happy paying for the job to be done right first time, everytime - a rarity in this day and age I reckon. Anyhoo, they've no shortage of work, usually booked out a week or two in advance, so must be plenty of mugs like me around with too much money to spend....

Well it seems I need to replace all 4 injectors after 100,000kms. Given that 2 of them were playing up at around 80,000 it tells me that Denso based common rail diesel vehicles are a buying risk at the moment. You put 4 new injectors in and whose to say you aren't going to need another new 4 in 50,000Kms? Rankin tell me Nissan have the same issue and so do the new Toyota V8 Cruisers , accept the Cruisers will all be warranty jobs. Can anyone tell me if extended warranties on new Diesel vehicles cover injectors once out of warranty, would be worth considering if so.
