I am asuming you mean the Killara Station near Tilpa?

I have not camped there but have called in for a look around. We were in the area in 2001 when they had just set up the bunk house. It all looked very nice. They showed us the area for camping along the river and it too looked pretty good.

The McLure's are well respected people in that part of the world. The whole family is quite prominent in one way or another. They have a reputation for doing things well so I imagine the camping would be pretty good.

I thinki there is a bit of water in the river at the moment too so that can only be good.

I actually meantKALLARA STATION ..which is near TILPA,

Killara Station in on the train line between Wynyard and Hornsby ....Lower North Shore ..SYDNEY..

And actually the place ....( KALLARA STATION ) ...reminds me of SIMS Metal Re-Cyclers yard in Tempe...that is Tempe in South Sydney ...and I really dont think i should pay to overnight in a trash camp ..
And by my observations:..they are hell bent on sucking as much water out of the dead Darling River as they can before someone else beats them to it ..
Never saw so many water wasters in my life as those who live in and exploit the bush

It's not often i get wound up but you managed to do it
What wavelength are you on or what are you smoking
Our home base is Sutherland Shire so Killara and Tempe are familiar to us. Obviously you have not travelled in the bush as your comments are ignorant
We stayed at Kallara Station in 2005, the Darling was in drought (not sucked out as you suggest) the McClure family was more than hospitable and the surrounding area was interesting. Our visit coincided, by chance, with the Tilpa Shearing Competition and for us city dwellers to mingle with locals and experience something other than the "burbs" was well worth the visit
Get a life

I have heard it is nice. Don't know if there is any water in the darling?

Just back from a trip which included part of the Darling River Run. We camped at the Tilpa Hotel but passed Kallara on the way to Louth. The Darling was just flowing at Tilpa and about 1/2" over the Bourke Weir. Didn't stop at the station but have heard it's pretty good.

We stayed there in 2004 and it was first rate. The folks there are very friendly and helpful. Totally recommended.

We stopped in for one night and camped on the little piece of green grass next to the Quarters in July .Nice walk along the river, visit the graves, watch the Bird Life.Kids went and got us some firewood in the little suzy. Was a nice place, could have stayed a couple of days but time didnt permit.
Toilets and showers were clean, people seamed friendly,Sunset was beautiful. Place has a lot of rubbish along the river bank that could do with a clean up but that was the only thing
