Stolzy
check the threads on this site they were updated on 1/7 ya can't get much better than that. Go to "On The Road" - Road conditions - Sth Aus - desert parks. Scroll through the roads list. They have had sufficient rain in the nth to close a lot of it down + there is a rally happening out there.

Hi everyone - almost an inch of rain in
Birdsville and the Desert about 1.5 inches down the
Birdsville Track to about 130 klms south of
Birdsville. All roads were closed and the Desert but I am pleased to report that the Simpson is open and people coming in and out without too much trouble - dunes should be easy driving now. Only road that is closed as of 1/2 hour ago was
Walkers Crossing from
Innamincka.
Cordillo Downs road is 4WD only (no trailers or caravans). All roads in an out of
Birdsville have been badly cut up and quite a few people spent 3 days and night, either bogged on the
Birdsville Track or on the Cordillo Road for several days. Wild flowers on the WAA line. One of the people stuck on the
Birdsville Track, luckily on a high
sand dune with firewood and a view was OSKAR - who thanked me nicely for the hint about flynets - he was very grateful!! His travelling companions didn't buy them though. Weather is beautiful - cold this a.m., shirtsleeves today, no breeze, mud drying out
well, cold tonight. Stolzy it will be just perfect by the time you get here. Gee, but you should see the muddy cars - you'd laugh to see the fathers worrying about getting their precious cars washed and polished - too bad about Mum and the washing of the clothes. It's kept them all occupied and they've had mega-family time together.
