Evening all,
thinking about install a caravan style
water tank under the 100 series where the spare used to be(its now on a carrier). I think i would fit a Camec 59l or
Roto Milllard 64l , I would also instal a bash plate. What are your thoughts and has any body else done this?

Brilliant idea.
Forgive me stating the obvious, but the hose and tap will have to mounted quite low to allow for the gravity feed.

You could use an electric pump, or just the boring
old hand pump out of an old caravan.
Pyro, not forgetting that 65 litres is 65 kilo's

I was just in my caravan today and the inside
hand pump pulling water from the tank underneath works admirably. Perhaps the same principle would apply!

Hi Pyro
I have fitted 2x 20L jerry cans between the chassis and side steps on my LC100 (one each side). I used the red ones available from repco and fitted a top 'dip' tube and overflow to each one. They are then connected by a 2 way valve and small electric shurflo pump under the bonnet.
Regards
Derek.

I pressure fill them from the connection in the bonnet until water runs out the overflows. I find them very handy to go fetch water when camping. No need to carry extra cans and I then simply pump the water into the camper.

There are
well positioned anchor points on the chassis through which I placed 25mm pieces of heater hose. I then threaded a 4m ratchet strap through these points and pulled it up tight.
They have been in position for 6 years and even lasted the latest
Birdsville trip. The only repair I have done is to replace one of the jerry can caps that split for some reason but has been fine since.
Regards
Derek.

Not under, but acroos the back floor behind the front seats.
Same dillemma and ended up at Camec to have a look a their range of pre-moulded Caravan tanks. Found an 80 litre that fits exactly across the vehicle and slots in with a cm to spare - could have been made for the job and even has a circular indent which fits over the transmission hump.
Has all the outlets-inlets with options either side, under or over and can be easily removed when need be, tho I don't because vehicle left permanently set up.
Simply have one hose leading up a bulkhead for a breather and the outlet, which doubles as filler under pressure, has a tap fitted on a hose and lives inside the vehicle by the back door.
Easy as and cheap as chips.
