Saw a thread on another site that mentions the fact that Rabbit Flat is now dispensing fuel 7 days per week. The reason given for the extended hours are due to family assistance.

He pointed that shotgun at someone else about 2 years ago and it cost him $1000 fine and a Good Behaviour Bond. Can't think of the persons name but sure it was a well known motoring journalist.

He was usually good, to us, used to call to Alice and give the pilot a weather update and strip report at 4 am, he was the only one who did it. his strip was always in good nic, and he always bought me a cold coke and a meat pie.......god they tasted sooo good after a full day in the sweatbox POS Cessna...lol

I don't blame him for being paranoid & carrying a shotgun around. We stopped to help some indiginous fellows coming in from WA who had a flat tyre but no jack. Unfortunately they went on to Rabbit flat & after getting a skin full decided to take on the local tribe from the NT, ending up with 1 being shot. He closed up the compound & called the cops. It would be a long tense wait while they came out from Alice Springs.
Wonder what the "well known motoring journalist" did or said to deserve facing the shiny end of the barrel.
Cheers Craig.............

Craig

I think it was one of the Leylands but I could be wrong. They had made an appointment with him for 11am in the morning but things didnt work out that way and they arrived at 2pm....siesta time. So the story goes that the fella walked around the back of the building and into the house and was met with a shotgun pointing a few inches from his face. Blood drained from his knees in an instant............................

Can't blame him for being cautious ,
They are a long way from anywhere, and if the " shyte hits the fan ", the cops are not just aroound the corner..

Just a bit of old fashon " self protection "

Cheers

Old fasion self protection is one thing,
