Footloose
5 more sleeps to go before my long awaited trip. So far
Winton to
Boulia and the Plenty appear closed. Contact in
Longreach says all the rivers run where he is.
The Alice looks Ok, but current info on remote WA locations is hard to come by.
It's raining for the second night in a row here....of course.
Perhaps I can get a job as a rainmaker...its easy...just plan a trip.
Ah
well, the good thing is that apart from aboriginal lands permits I don't have a rigid schedule. Being by myself (literally) I have noone to blame for a crook
camp, poor navigation and dreadful decisions. Nobody to argue with, and the "cook" (tin opener...no SNAGS here :) won't take any lip on this trip ! The bad thing is I hate wet bushcamps and mud.
By Thurs I will of rung a few far flung
places and made a pain of myself asking about their precipitation and track conditions...if there's any track left that is :((((

have a great trip. I haven't done a trip on my lonesome yet but the idea appeals. Not quite sure about sitting around the fire with a glass of red and having a chat with myself. Where are you heading (rain permitting)?

Bob, the idea is to retrace your route across to 80 mile beach...but perhaps a little more slowly. I'll have to abandon the idea id
Lake Auld has water of course.

Jim
I was listening to VKS737 this arvo and heard a bloke who was at
William Creek but was heading out that way in the coming weeks. I didn't catch his call sign and he couldn't hear me. He was going out the Desert rd and then the Kidson (Wapet)
That really is a special trip. I'll listen for you.

Thanks Bob, thats very interesting news. I'm planning to be in Alice by Tues/Wed and then off across around the 7th. Sounds like I'll be in his dust. As I'll be by myself the radio will be very important to me.

Amateur VK4BBG on Travellers Net.
Although travelling by myself, I wouldn't be at all adverse to knowing that another party with a radio was along the track somewhere. :)))
Cheers
Jim
