Did you leave the caravan at the
campsite to go out to
Level Post Bay? Is that
the spot where Donald Campbell broke the land speed record? Add interest.

Not trying to detract from the excellent post, but here is another interesting video about Muloorina and Donald Campbell.

Hi Motherhen,
We left the van at Muloorina, an excellent
camp spot with an Honesty Box. The road to there was good graded dirt. From there to
Level Post Bay you are not permitted to tow anything. This road was very corrugated but doable.
Yes
Level Post Bay is where Donald Campbell did his land speed record. Didn't you watch the video ? I mention it in there.
Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul & Michelle
Great viewing and timely for us as we are going to head out that way over the next month or so to take a look at Lake Eyre (again...!)

Thanks Baz
It's a great place, we've been a few times now too!
Unfortunately you won't see any water at the shore. I sent a drone out about 1km at
Halligan Bay (from
William Creek) & there was water there,
Enjoy your trip

Thanks Paul & Michelle for the video
Great video and I checked it out; before we made our trip and it told me all I wanted to know, but it appears I didn't take proper notice as I got us bogged in precisely the same spot. There were lots of other tracks going around that little sand
hill and I didn't give it a second thought, tyres still on road pressure.
Both ends up to the axle so lots of sand removal by hand and tyre deflation got us out OK.
Regards Paul & Fiona
