Most useful qualifications for travel?

Truck, forklift, loader, grader, fencing and a willingness to show a good work ethic.
Don't BS them, just because you have one of those tickets or licences, they will soon know you have the ticket but haven't any operating experience, but they may overlook that if you show promise and can guarantee the amount of time you will work for them through a season or when required.

I was offered a job recently driving grain tippers for a farmer but declined because my wife would kill me.

Caravan park handyman or management would also be handy.

Refrigeration mechanic (cold beer)
Diesel fitter (deliver beer and generate power for beer)
RSA (serve beer)
Chippie (make seats to sit on while drinking beer)

When we arrived in Birdsville in 1998 (pre-ExplorOz) we could do nothing but teach scuba diving or offer IT skills. They had no use for scuba instruction but we had 6 weeks of work there. We were asked to give basic computer skills tuition, perform software installs, install hardware, configure networks, you name it. Whatever skill you bring there is someone that wants it. Just market yourself fairly and do right by one influential person in the town and let word of mouth do the rest.

An attitude of having a go will help, if you have been outback you know that some places have a lot of trouble finding staff and the ones working there are doing it because they want an extension on their visa.

If you want to work in towns then they need to see qualifications, and they could take time to obtain but working in roadhouses and caravan parks would mean that most of time you won't need any tickets.

Serving alcohol needs one but these could be obtained quickly BUT you may need one for each state ?

Selling stuff over the counter, mowing lawns, cleaning are probably the most common and if possible you may be able to get some experience before hitting the road.

Years ago I walked in to a servo/pub/caravan park all in one & there was a sign wanted dishwasher 2hrs in the morning & 2 hrs at night, as I paid for my fuel I said you’re I luck & pointed to the sign, & he looked at me & said what’s your trade I told him I was a underwater ceramic technician, he went what f##K is that? I told him a dish pig, he laughed gave me the job & I ended up staying there for 14 weeks & even ended up running the place & the owners went on their first holiday in 12 years
Years later I was at an auction & a commercial dishwasher came up & no one bided so I gave a $5 bid & won it, so I sent it to the owners & years later I stopped there & was taken out the back to see the dishwasher with a sign on the door scrap dishes before placing in the underwater ceramic cleaning machine we all laughed

Be up front & be honest & some of the smallest jobs can lead to a lot more from that I dish pig job I ended up looking after 4 servo stations & 3 motels

The main ' qualification ' is honesty and the ability to not oversell or undersell your actuall abilities and 'settle' for the going rate of pay on offer , not slave wages but not the same as one would expect in capital cities either.

Being a millionaire would help. (and no I am not speaking from experience:)
