Billion Star Camper
We are planning to travel up the
Birdsville track in early July for the big red Bash, then travel east to
Sydney. The obvious route is the
Birdsville development road to
Windorah then
Quilpie.
Does any one know the condition of the development road going east from
Birdsville. Obviously if wet it would be a problem. We travel with a Nissan Patrol cab chassis with a alloy canopy.

Every time I've driven it, it's been a nice wide dirt road. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I've been up there.

Ditto.
Usually kept in good condition, prior to BRB, BV races etc they might give it a spruce up grade too if needed.
If it rains, all bets are off !
As long as it's open, you will have no trouble with the Patrol anyway, not towing anything.

As others have said, unless there has been recent rain you will have a great run, and to you and anyone else heading that way around that time don't forget to drop in at
Farina. A great stopover for a night, morning tea or lunch, and yes we will be volunteers there again this year. The
bakery will be operating at that time so
well worth a stop!
Rgds,
Rob

Hi Rob
What is it with this one day visit.......lol
We make sure we always stay at
Farina when we are in the area and a few days is even better. The
bakery is tops and it is
well worth the small detour just to drop in for oven fresh products.
Enjoy your two week working stay and say g'day to the great team.
Cheers
Stephen
