Shortly we are heading off to
Coward Springs on the
Oodnadatta to give Prue and Greg a spell for a few weeks.
After that we are heading for Alice, then hope to take the
Outback Way, then at some stage do a right hand turn and end up somewhere south of
Broome, then work south to
Perth down the coast, before doing a left and back to Vic..
I am having trouble locating the paper maps required. There used to be a Hema Key Map, where you could find out which ones cover which areas, but i have been unable to locate it.
Does anyone have any ideas? Or suggestions for maps? I have a Hema 6 plus ipad nav gear, but always like back ups
Thanks in advance. Cheers

Hema Great Desert Tracks - South East .
But all you need to do is get to
Marree and then head for
Oodnadatta and it's on the right, just 131 kms past
Marree on the
Oodnadatta Track.

Cheers Phil. Typical of me I did not explain myself properly.
We have actually been going to Coward for years and up and down the track.
It's the area from Alice west I'm not too familiar with.

WA has a local map crowd. You may like the maps more than Hema. Find them in roadhouses over there.

I always take the following paper maps to back up the digital ones I use.
Hema GDT North Central, North West, South West and South Central.
Hema GDT
Pilbara and Coral Coast and maybe
Kimberley.
You can also buy the books but its not the same as laying a paper map on the bonnet!
Westprint North West and South West - Westprint have good written info in their maps
Can buy the maps directly from the Hema and Westprint websites or right here in the Exploroz
shop.

I'm a fan of Westprint maps.
Well drawn, checked on the ground. You get a couple with the SA Desert Parks Pass. I've bought the Tanami Tk map. Folk say the Tanami is boring but that map has enough general info to make it more interesting.
Their maps are available in digital format, for OziExplorer. Will the Hema 6 run those?
