We are a retired couple. We plan to leave 30 June, take 2 weeks to
Cairns, then 2 weeks on
Cape York, then, whatever.
We have an off road Goldstream Crown camper van, which we are hoping to take through to
Bamaga.
Send me a message if this sounds interesting.

Just a suggestion .... but if you're retired and time is not an issue, then 2 weeks on the Cape will be nothing but bloody hard work. Why not allow a month and you still won't see everything.
In a fortnight you'll have time to drive up and back with a couple of days at the top and that's about it.

I took it as two weeks to get to
Cairns, then two weeks to get to the tip and then as much as needed to do whatever is needed to see it all and come
home. Open ended after the arrival at the tip.
Good old comprehension. Almost as bad as trying to understand Macbeth. That was in school. Yuk

Nah mate ...
two weeks on
Cape York (comma) then (comma) whatever ..
The way I read it the "whatever" referred to their NEXT adventure.
Maybe we need the original poster to clarify ;o))

Yes, the 2 weeks was meant to mean to the tip and basically back south.
I take note of the advice, and will allocate more than 2 weeks.
Thanks for your advice.

M and M
Unless you like crowds, would suggest you delay start of your trip - because it co-incides with the NSW School Holidays.
Cheers

Options are a bit limited, but I am thinking at least holidays will be over by the time we get north of
Cairns.

Hmmm!
Round about the same time frame, dates are not a problem to us.
And, 'a new
Penguin'?
If you are interested to chat to compare notes, etc, I will post my mobile on the thread, or get in touch somehow (maybe even become a member of ExplorOz?).

Hi Headbolt,
If you want to have a chat my mobile is zero double four eight four two double six double eight. As I said it would be interesting to compare notes and maybe cross paths somewhere? I understand you can take off road vans to
Bamaga, so be interested why you are hesitating.
