Hi to every one
We are off on our trip to the
Kimberley's in 4 weeks going to do the Gibb naturally along with all of the gorges as
well as
Cape Leveque and
Kalumburu with a time frame of 10 to 12 weeks travelling from
Maryborough Q and would be grateful if anybody could tell me if I require permits and or access permission for any sections and where is the most convenient place to obtain these. I read somewhere where that a permit was required for
Kalumburu is this correct.
Hoping for as much info as possible.
Regards
Kelvin

Some interesting reading on
Kalumburu. Infomation about permits is about 1/3 way down.
Kalumbaru visitor information
Don't forget a drive all the way around the
Cockburn Range on the
King River Road and the Karunji track. Travel "with the sun" at your back to get the best photos of the escarpments. We took a whole day with the sun behind us. Information on the Karunji Track and a mud map is available from the
Emma Gorge resort. It belongs to
El Questro I think or they manage it. Just don't say that you are not staying at
El Questro and it is easy to get help.

You are going to the
Kimberley - not the
Kimberley's or Kimberlies.
Enjoy its a great region.

I though it was Maryburra. For years I have been spelling bad.
And for sure. It's a great region.

Hey guys I take it that you pair would be the kind of people that have nothing better to do with your time than to get up every morning and scan through the papers and forums looking for incorrect spelling, grammar mistakes and the like. For your information there are hundreds of articles published by professional writers spelling it as
Kimberley's so if you can't have any thing constructive to say don't bother wasting every body's time.

No Kelvin
Landseka, I think, and myself were just having a little fun. While I try to follow grammar and spelling rules myself, I have given up on correcting anyone, especially on the internet.
Life's too short and I am in an excellent mood today.
No mate just having fun. Surely you picked that with my spelling of
Maryborough.
Catchya
Time for a cuppa in the sun. I think it's over the zero mark outside now.
You enjoy the
Kimberley area and try to see as much as you can. Don't forget to spoil your self with a night at
Home Valley in a spa room.
We also found
El Questro highly over rated and damned expensive. It cost us $60 to
camp for one night on a tent site without power. And all the showers were cold at 5:30. That wasn't really a problem, but when you pay for it you should get it. There were buses every where. Too many people for our liking.

So! You are going to run away and not apologise for getting it terribly wrong in my case.

Check the Conservation and Land Management Website, we did the trip in 2003, permits could be downloaded and were free, but at
Kalumburu and other
places they charged $30.00 things may have changed but it's worth checking the website.
