Photo by Graeme W. The Swamp Spider Orchid, Caladenia paludosa is the orchid most confused with the Dunsborough Spider Orchid but is bigger and has a much later flowering period.
The orchid normally has rich yellow petals some times white to pale yellow are seen. The labellum is white with pale red markings. A version with red petals can be found.
Growing up to 400 mm high. Two greenish/yellow white red flowers. Fawnish-yellow clubbed petals and sepals. Fairly long fringe segments.

Small terrestrial orchid growing to about 10cm high. Long narrow leaves. Flowers up to 1.5cm across. Labellum with transverse markings. growing in sclerophyll forest on sandstone.

Although there is general agreement that this orchid is discoidea, it appears to be known by both common names, Dancing Spider and Bee Orchid. Grows to 100mm - 450mm.

Very common and widespread in WA from Jurien Bay to Israelite Bay Stems carry multiple flowers. Large brilliant blue to flowers about 3cm across. Prominent central column.
Glossy petals look almost artificial. Photographs reveal muted spots on the petals. Found either singly or in spreading colonies in coastal heath and winter-wet sites.
