With its startling purple flowers, Cyanostegia could almost be mistaken for a weed. But its a true Australian native. Rounded, open woody shrub to about 1m. Oval leaves with serrated edges.
Dark purple flowers about 2.5cm across, surrounded by a glossy purple calyx which stays on the plant after the flower has died off.
Flowering start in May and ends in October.
Identification
The main flower colour is purple. Purple flowers surrounded by purple calyces. Grows in loose red sand.
