Widespread and quite common across temperate parts of eastern states. Bulbine forms clumps and sometimes big colonies in temperate grassland and grassy woodlands. The yellow star shaped flowers are about 2cm across and are held on flowering spikes that grow to about 60cm tall. Leaves can be thick and fleshy if growing in good conditions.
Flowering start in September and ends in March.

The main flower colour is yellow.
Uses
The corms of mature plants are nutritious and were used as food by the Aborigines, who called it parm, puewan, and pike. They regarded the corms as the sweetest-tasting of the lily and lily-like Australian plants.
