This Calothamnus looks to be a very tough woody shrub growing to about 2m high. Thick flattened leaves with conspicuous ribbing, and ending in a sharp point. The bright red flowers are about 4cm long. Growing in sand.
Flowering start in August.
Identification
The main flower colour is red. The species name "blepharospermus" means "having fringed seeds".
