Hi ExplorOz Reader
Over the past few weeks we've made a number of minor updates to ExplorOz Traveller with the release
of V3.12.1 for Android last month and then just yesterday we had to release V3.12.2 for Apple,
Android Windows to fix various small
bugs we have identified. However, we are on the brink of releasing a major update which will be
version 4. We may need to go through a short Beta test first as this is a major change but we wanted
you to know what's coming. So this newsletter is all about Version 4.

WHAT'S NEW?
The Version 4 release contains big improvements to the navigation system, voice guidance, driving
directions calculator and map view.
- NEW Driving Calculation Screen: after selecting a Place to GoTo, the app will offer more than 1
route to reach the destination plus you'll have the option to select the MODE of travel or discard
- NEW Comprehensive voice guidance system: better instructions, more intuitive
- NEW Auto route recalculation during travel when you deviate significantly from
the pre-calculated route
NEW MAPPING ENGINE
- NEW mapping engine provides a 3D option to pitch the map for a birds-eye view (Default pitch is 45 with other options in Settings)
- Additional zoom levels added inbetween the whole zoom level eg. 10.1, 10.2, not just 10, 11
etc.

FREE UPDATESYou can check
for app updates by going directly to the ExplorOz Traveller app listing in the store. You'll see an update button if you haven't downloaded the latest version.
Alternatively, use the "Enable Auto-Update" setting. When the app updates it completely replaces itself but doesn't remove any installed data such as your maps, public or private Places & Treks. If you don't know how to setup Auto Update, please use the following links to learn how:-
TIP: go to the bottom of the home screen of the Traveller app and tap "Reference Manuals &
About". This will take you to the About screen which will show what version of the app you have installed on your
device as well as other useful information about your device such as the Operation System and version, the Device ID and more

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUERIES
Here's some of issues we've dealt with this month via the Help Desk. Take a browse to check for any tips
relevant to yourself.WHY AM I BEING ASKED TO PAY ANOTHER $49.99?
For offline use you will need to download at least the EOTopo Base Map which is included when you
purchase the app for $59.99. However this map pack will only give you zoom to Level 10. If you want to view greater
detail offline maps, you must download the
additional EOTopo map packs (577K, and 144K East, Central and/or West). Purchase of the EOTopo 2019
offline map pack provides this
for $49.99.
THE PURCHASE EOTOPO BUTTON ISN'T WORKING
If the in-app purchase button is unresponsive for you, you can purchase direct from us instead - just
go to our shop on the website. Once the purchase is made, you'll see a change in your User Account -
with a green tick for the EOTopo licence.
You can then go to the Data Manager to download the maps to your device.
WHY DOES THE WEBSITE REJECT MY GPX FILE IMPORTS TO PRIVATE PLACES?
GPX is a common geodata file format. It is a format used by many
mapping software systems for both waypoints AND routes but the GPX import tool on our website in Places
will only accept GPX waypoint files. This is because Places represent a specific location
- ie. a specific lat/long coordinate. Only GPX waypoint points represent a specific single lat/long
coorindate. GPX track/route files are not single coordinates but whole route lines.
A track/route file in GPX format can still be imported however not as Places. Go to
Track Logs - and import your GPX files there.
Then, open your Track Log - select "Follow in Traveller". Then open the Traveller app - open Data
Manager and scroll down to the bottom where you will see Track Logs - press Update. See Following
Track
Logs on page 4 & 7 the User Manual.
HOW CAN I AVOID BEING CHARGED AGAIN TO PUT THE APP ON MY OTHER DEVICES?
Your purchase of the app includes the licence to download the app from the same store to multiple
devices. The only time you will be asked to pay
again is when you switch platforms/stores - ie. a purchase from Apple is not valid on an Android or
Windows device etc.
I ALREADY OWN THE EOTOPO MAP LICENCE HOW DO I GET THE MAPS ON MY OTHER DEVICES?
Your purchase of the EOTopo map licence is linked to your User Account so you only need to make the
one purchase
and can then download the full whole of Australia EOTopo map packs to any other device
provided the ExplorOz Traveller is installed. You don't need to
buy separate map versions for Apple, Android or Windows devices as the app sorts that out via the Data
Manager.

NEED MORE HELP?
Did you know that the app features an inbuilt User Manual? It's downloaded onto your device as a PDF file so its available offline - anytime, anywhere. Use the button at the bottom of the home screen to go to the Reference Manuals &
About section.
We also have a Support Help section on the ExplorOz Traveller webpage that lists the most common issues
that trip people up and provides clear, concise answers, so be sure to
check these too. If you're totally lost, feel welcome to reach out via the Help Desk and we'll get
back to you promptly.
At the bottom of the Traveller webpage you will also see a section titled "Newsletters" - take a
browse through our past newsletters to see any tips/helps we've given when in our past newsletters.
