Delicious for a cold winters night
Ingredients
- half onion sliced,1 clove garlic sliced
- 1 carrot sliced, 1 celery sliced, 2 medium sized potatoes sliced, quarter pumpkin peeled and sliced
- half cup of pearl barley
- 1 tablespoon chicken stock (powder), 1 litre chicken stock pkt,
- 4 ltrs water
- Pepper to season
Method
- Step 1One 10 litre saucepan or campoven add 4 litres of water, then add all cut up ingredients & bring to boil, reduce heat to simmer for about an hour.
- Step 2Brown onion with garlic in frypan then add to stock.
- Step 3Stir with wooden spoon occasionally, until all cooked.
- Step 4Serves 4 - 6
