Camp Area. There are
toilets and picnic tables. The Cobb and Co Changing Station in
Surat is also
well worth a visit.
Surat Weir is located on the Balonne River just on the north side of
Surat. The weir is suitable for small vessels and paddlecraft. There is a concrete
boat ramp with a pontoon on the north side of the river at the
camp area.
Surat Weir is stocked by the
Surat Fishing and Restocking Club Inc. The weir is stocked with golden perch, Murray cod and silver perch. In 2017/18 31,250 golden perch, 3,400 Murray cod and 20,833 silver perch were stocked from SIPS permit sales.
