This is a good overnight location. It is located along the Gatton to Clifton Road, otherwise known as the Ma Ma Creek Road, from Gatton.
The
camping area is on grass in an elbow of Heifer Creek,which you cross about 7 or 8 times as you pass through
the gorge that leads to the range.
Above the
camping area, at road level, the twin
toilets are located, as is a memorial to Thiess Brothers, the construction company that had its start with a contract to cut a deep cutting through a
hill just a few kilometres back towards Gatton and went on to play a major roll in the building of the
Snowy Mountains Scheme.
This should be a quiet place to
camp as it is
well below the road and traffic at night would be quite lite.
