Duaringa Rest Area (Mackenzie Park) 48hr - QLD

The Rest Area is on the right when entering the town from the east. It is a large area that can probably comfortable park 40 rigs. The ground is sandy and drains readily if there is rain. The park offers free 48 hour camping.Facilities include toilets, hot showers and a dump point. There is a drinking water tap with hose connection on the wall of the ladies end of the toilet block. There is shade with trees scattered over the area. But watch out for those where bats roost. They are not hard to pick, as you will hear the bats.The nearby town has normal small country town facilities including fuel, grocery store and a pub.Although the area is close to the highway truck noise is not obtrusive. The rumble of coal trains can be heard in the opposite direction but the line is far enough away for the sound not to be sleep threatening.
