Funny Dunny Park is a remote
bush camp unique for its quiet beachside location. You can drive on
the beach with 4wd (below high tide line to preserve
turtle nests). The
camp is set approx 300m back from
the beach front which overlooks Cape Upstart - a magnificent sight.
Park rules:
1. Camping is restricted to a maximum of 4 days in a 14 day period.
2. A
dump point is located on Sixth Street,
Home Hill (over the railway line).
Please do not dispose of cassettes or empty sewage into the composting
toilet.
3. Clotheslines or other similar structures are not permitted.
4. The area is to be maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
5. Please respect others - do not disturb, annoy, interfere or otherwise inconvenience other visitors to the park.
6. Open ground fires are prohibited but fire braziers can be used.
7. Camping is only permitted within the fenced area of the park.
Visitors who do not comply with the above rules. will be asked to leave and may be issued with a fine.
Dune / Beach protection
To ensure this park and beach is protected for future generations please:
1. Access
the beach via designated access points only;
2. Take all of your belongings, including waste, with you when you leave;
3. Keep off fragile sand dunes and drive between the high and low water marks to:
• prevent erosion;
prevent damage to dune vegetation; and minimise disturbance to bird and
turtle nests.Be aware of marine stingers, box jellyfish and salt water crocodiles.$5 per vehicle/night. Blue Honesty box or onsite caretaker.
