A NSW National Parks
campground in the Bundjalung National Park. While there are tracks to other features in the Park, there is only one that accesses the
campground. About 6km south of
Woodburn on the Pacific Hwy, turn east onto Gap Road and follow it to the end. Sites are set amongst tall coastal scrub and are suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans and small motor homes. There are numerous sites of varying sizes to suit your style of camping, including some walk-in sites. Most sites are gravelled, but the walk-in sites are grassed. All but a few are
well separated by natural vegetation, affording privacy and shelter from the wind. There are some common areas with gas BBQs, tables and shelters for communal use. Most sites have a fire ring and picnic table.
Sites must be booked via the website above.
The
campground is fairly remote, so bring your own everything.
There are the usual Nat Park
toilets and also a
dump point.
The coastline is magnificent, with wide beaches bordered by soft black rocks (look like soft black
sandstone and hence the name) and then dunes before the
campground.
