An unsealed track here on the SE side of the highway (Ranken Rd) leads into the
Connells Lagoon Conservation Reserve. Free access but camping is not permitted within the small boundary of the reserve. No generators, no fires, no pets within the reserve. A 4WD track within the reserve leads to a couple of sites noted in the Park Notes. This reserve protects a number of species of wildlife. This track leads into and out of the reserve and can be traversed all the way through to
Alexandria Station and through to
Soudan on the
Barkly Highway.
