Top Moffatt
Camping Area is one of 4 campgrounds in the Mt Moffat section of the
Carnarvon National Park. If you're coming in from the south, take
Carnarvon Park North Rd and turn right onto Top Moffat Road and travel for 6km (along the main circuit drive). Before reaching the
Park Information Centre take the southern track at
the Junction Mt Moffatt Circuit Dr & Top Moffat Rd Centre and cross the Maranoa River. The track then
swings East and you'll travel for 12km until reaching the
campground just beneath
Mount Moffatt. There is no-through beyond the
campground so you must return back the way you came in to rejoin the Mt Moffatt Circuit Drive.
This
camping area offers endless
views beside the East Branch of the Maranoa River as
well as shade. Fires are permitted (BYO firewood) in communal fire-rings. There is a pit
toilet and NO other facilities. There is limited numbers allowed for camping and a permit is required. Book online. Suitable for tent campers, walk-in campers, and 4WD camper trailers.
Short hike to One Mile Creek (great for sunrise photography).
