The Historic
Paringa Suspension Bridge was officially opened on the 31st January 1927 and is one of only four bridges that still span the
Murray River and capable of carrying B-Double Trucks as part of the Sturt Highway. The
Bridge can be opened 9.30am and 2.30pm, 7 days a week with 2 hours prior notice of a large water vessel wishing to pass under the
bridge. During 2008, the
bridge under went major renovation work.
