This
bore and hand pump are situated on the southern reaches of the isolated
Hunt Oil Road. The pump is situated on the eastern side of the track some 63 kilometres north of the
Great Central Road. It is 10 kilometres north-west of the southern
airstrip on the Hunt and 10 kilometres south east of the Hunt – Tjirrkarli Road
intersection. The
bore and pump were sunk when the Hunt company commenced exploration in the area. As of 29th June 2008, the pump was operating and producing good quality water.
The site of the
bore is a bit open and exposed with obvious signs of excavation (old water storage ponds) and little
shelter by way of trees. It is not an ideal
campsite.
