Yowah township is a small community of a few hundred people based on the Yowah opal fields. If the opals hadn't been here, the town most probably wouldn't exist. There is a
general store with the usual basic necessities, and fuel. The town
bore is outside the store, and water is available. There are two caravan parks, the free one with basic amenities and the one run by the
general store, with a step up from basic amenities.
This place is miner focused and run, so the stores close down in the middle of the day for mining. There is also a local cafe and
information centre.
Mine tours are available.
One teacher school and no pub.
Access is via bitumen road (one lane in
places) from the south.
