Bowenville Reserve is located alongside
Oakey Creek off the Bowenville-Norwin Road, a short 9km drive from the
Warrego Highway at Bowenville.
The level
camping area provides a peaceful, close-to-nature experience with stays limited to seven days. As no camping fees apply, please be mindful of keeping the reserve area tidy so everyone can enjoy it.
Non-potable water may be available. However, boil all water for at least 10 minutes before drinking.
The reserve also offers picnic tables and shelters,
bins,
toilets (no shower facilities) and a playground.
Although the Bowenville-Norwin Road is bitumen, entry to the reserve is gravel. Please be aware that certain areas can become boggy after wet weather.
The reserve has a total fire ban unless constructed fire pits exist.
Fishing is available from the shore and small watercraft are permitted. Electric motors are also allowed.
Busy on long weekends and school holidays.
Free Dump Point and potable water at corner of Lorrimer and
York Streets,
Oakey.
