Cooper Creek, Birdsville Tk - SA

For most of the time the Cooper Creek is a shady and pleasant place to set up camp and relax here on the southern side of the floodplain. When nature has its way, and the upstream floods finally arrive, the Birdsville track goes under by a metre or so but the creek is 5 km wide. Since the 1974 the Cooper has flooded here in 1990, 2010/11 and now in 2025 another flood is coming. Through traffic will need to catch the Cooper Creek Ferry.
