Camping is no longer permitted here and the area is now a day use area nestled by the banks of the Lerderderg River. Sheltered by tall gum trees, enjoy a picnic in good company before setting out on a walk to explore the rugged terrain of Lerderderg
Gorge on your four-wheel drive adventure.
Dogs on a leash are allowed. Beware of slippery rocks, flash flooding, shafts and steep track. Trees and limbs may fall.
Toilets and picnic tables. Fires allowed in provided fireplaces.
Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to
check ahead of your visit for any updates.
East Walk from O’Briens Crossing
Picnic Area to Cowan Track is closed due to severe weather damage.
Camping can be found at the Lerderderg
campground which is five kilometres from O'Brien's Crossing on Upper Chadwick Track and has picnic tables,
toilets and fireplaces.
