Information

John Forrest’s 59th camp from Geraldton on his 1874 expedition to the overland telegraph line is located at the southern end of a plateau area and is 4.5 kilometres east of the David Carnegie Road.

The site of Camp 59 is marked by a small rock cairn and has a tin buried in it containing names and dates of previous visitors. A large gum 5 metres to the west of the cairn has the white ant eaten blaze that Forrest carved.
