Small rural centre on the eastern side of the southern
Flinders Ranges.
Located 262 km north of
Adelaide on the edge of the
Flinders Ranges, Orroroo is one of those towns which seems to have been designed so that people have to get fit to cross the main street. To see a photograph of the main street in 1878 is to be in awe of the way the main street was developed. There is a veritable
football field between the buildings on one side of the road and the buildings on the other.
