Sawpit
Gorge, also known as
Sawtooth Gorge, sits just off the Duncan Road, which is one of the most scenic roads in the
Kimberley region. It's about a half hour drive south of
Halls Creek, and four and a half hours drive south of
Kununurra.
The
camping area in
the gorge is stunning and free. Nice deep, croc free safe
water hole for swimming, flanked by a towering
rock face.
Eco
toilet & bin.
This is not a
permanent waterhole and the gravel access road is not strictly 4WD required but due to being an unmaintained road can be subject to seasonal damage which can pose a challenge for 2WD or low clearance vehicles - it is therefore recommended for 4WDs. Caravan access to the top of
the gorge is possible but turning area is limited.
