Bunya Mountains National Park is located 55km west of Nanango via Maidenwell or 55km north from
Dalby via Kaimkillenbun. Aboriginal people once gathered in the mountains every three years to celebrate and feast on the large crops of bunya nuts. Protected within the mountains is the world's largest stand of bunya pines, their distinctive dome shaped crown can be seen rising above the surrounding rainforest. Rangers do request that visitors not feed birds and wildlife in the park.
A Camping permit is required. Located on Bunya Avenue signposted off Bunya Mountains Road, 60klm north of
Dalby and 30klm west of Maidenwell. Bring
drinking water. Gas/ fuel stove only.
