Goulet Bluff is a point on the western side of the
Peron Peninsula south of
Denham. This point acts as an important marker between the
Denham Sound or northern portion of the Western Gulf Zone from the southern fishing zone of Freycinet Estuary. A beach is located to the north side of
the bluff that stretches for 1.4km. Waves usually maintain a migrating spit at the southern end of the each forming a narrow lagoon.
The area is accessible in a 2wd vehicle via an unsealed road. Although there are no formal tracks or boardwalks you can explore remote beaches by foot from this site.
Goulet Bluff is 36 kilometres SE of
Denham and provides four campsites for visitors.
IMPORTANT: if you wish to
camp in this area, a permit is necessary and must be purchased before arriving. See Nearby Place listing for details about the
camp site.
