Mount Hart was first discovered by white men in 1879 by Alexander and Matthew
Forrest. It has never been discovered who or what Mount Hart was named after. Mount Hart is approx. 30km drive from the Mount Hart turn-off located 240km north of
Derby along the
Gibb River Road. Mount Hart is a 10km drive west of Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge (formerly Mt Hart station) which offers stylish accomodation, fine cuisine and camping facilites to travellers.
