Devenish is a town in northern Victoria, Australia within the Rural City of Benalla. At the 2011 census, Devenish and the surrounding area had a
population of 360, declining to 197 by 2016.
These days, Devenish has a resurgence of tourism interest in the
Silo Art. The Devenish concrete grain silos were built between the railway line and the main street and opened to receive wheat in December 1943. Later the Bulk Oat storage building was built in 1965.
The Graincorp Devenish Silos artwork was unveiled on Anzac Day Eve 2018 and coincides with the 100 year centenary of the end of the First World War.
The artwork is of both a First World War nurse and a modern day combat medic. Fifty
young men and women from the Devenish community enlisted in military service for the First World War.
April 2019 has seen the third silo installation completed with recognition to the Lighthorse men. The Silo's were completed by artist Cam Scale.
