There was a time when
Ilfracombe had three hotels. Today the only hotel left is Wellshot which dates from 1890. The facade is largely unaltered but the accommodation at the rear was rebuilt in 1956. The hotel has memorabilia which dates from the time when the town was the centre of huge sheep stations.
There are seven Budget Rooms to suit singles, friends, couples or families. These rooms are accessible via the southern wing of the hotel. They are air conditioned, have tea and coffee making facilities, however use shared bathrooms (shown in image below). Beds are very comfortable and there is a lovely verandah with outdoor settings so you can enjoy
the gardens or just relax.
