These gardens are a combination of forest and 21 hectares of naturally displayed gardens overlooking Lake Tondoon and nestled into the undulating landscape of Mount Biondello. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil location of the secluded Gardens which also feature walking tracks, botanical displays and a Japanese Tea Garden. The Gardens boast more than 1500 species of native plants from the local Port Curtis Region and Far North Queensland. Here at the Gardens you can experience different environments from regions across Queensland in the one location, ranging from the native forest and natural bushland of Mount Biondello, and the coastal Central Queensland rainforest to the rainforest of North Queensland. Officially opened in 1988 as part of a Gladstone Regional Council conservation strategy, Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens has become a place of inspiration, relaxation and recreation for many.
