Burke and Wills camped at Kernacoopinna
Waterhole on21/12/1860.. Having to skirt around water they had traveled almost westerly. Wills reported that the land they had recently passed through had an abundance of water holes and would be good pastoral land. Due to the heat during the day, the expedition were now tending to move early in the mornings, finding water and stopping then recommencing in late afternoon and walking till late at night.
