Burke and Wills camped here on 7/11/1860. Even though the day temperatures were in the 30C's there was plentiful water and
waterholes. Wills observed that the weather here produced large storms in summer and so water was ;plentiful. As a result there were large numbers of aboriginals who kept their distance from the expedition group, but followed their progress. By now Wills had observed they were now heading too fare east and although there was plentiful water, they needed to get to
Cooper Creek to establish the
camp where Wright would bring supplies from Menindie for the trek back. The decision was made that they would now head west the next day.
