Information
Burke and Wills camped on the edge of what is now known as the Bulloo River Overflow but then was named at Altoka by the aboriginals on 31/10/1860. Burke and Wills had little trust of the aboriginals, and some groups of aboriginals were following their every movement but keeping a distance. They could see the lake that the Bulloo River had made to the North which was a relief as the water they had been drinking recently was very muddy....but drinkable.
