Burke and will established this
camp on 15/10/1860. They left on 19/10/1860. Whilst here they decided to establish the Pamamaroo Depot
Camp on the other side of the town. Senior members of the expedition party strayed in the nearby hotel which has a
plaque outside. Burke, Wills, Brahe, King, McDonough, Patten and Mahomet made up the party that would head to
Cooper Creek. Guiding them for some distance was Wright and two aboriginals. Wright subsequently returned to the Pamamaroo Depot
Camp where he set out later to try and meet up with Burke and Wills on their return from the Cape.
