Adelaide on the Barrier Highway, It was proclaimed as the 'Township of Penn', on 17 April 1890 and altered to 'Oodlawirra' on 19 September 1940 to agree with the name of the railway station. It was the name of an Aboriginal weapon consisting of a notched, curved stick.
