The main feature of Cradock is the delightful little pub, which used to be called the
Heartbreak Hotel after the failure of many farms in the area. The area is on the "wrong side" of the famous Goyder Line, so problems in growing crops could have been anticipated.
Apart from the pub, there are a couple of old churches and a building that used to be the police station, relics of the days when Cradock was a busier spot.
Cradock is a good place to stop if you're using the track between there and
Yunta on the Barrier Highway. This track goes via Baratta Station and Waukeringa
ruins, and provides very pleasant and varied scenery through the eastern foothills of the
Flinders Ranges.
