The district of Kimba is around 3,500 square kilometres and lies on the Eyre Highway, about 475 kilometres from
Adelaide, 155 kilometres from
Port Augusta and 315 kilometres from
Ceduna.
The Kimba district has an overall
population of 1,211 people with a little over half of that (650) residing in the township. The primary industry in Kimba is agriculture (began in 1876) and the nearby Conservation Parks and the
Gawler Ranges provides the district with some tourism.
