The Jamieson Museum, housed in the old Jamieson Courthouse, is maintained by the Jamieson and District Historical Society and is open on weekends between
Melbourne Cup weekend and
Easter.
Jamieson is a quaint, historic town in the Victorian High Country. It was
well known in the late 1800's for gold mining and had many bars, bakeries and even two breweries with a lively community.
Well worth a visit to view the historic display and relics from a bygone age.
Open Saturday: 11:00am - 3:00pm and Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Houses a Café,
Picnic area and
Public toilet. Also within the Museum is Gallery on Nash a community minded venture providing an outlet for the artists, artisans and producers in and around Jamieson, with a dedicated room for fine art, glasswork, mosaic, photography, pottery, etc, all created by local artists. The seedlings and plants are on display in the Museum garden. Open 10 till 3 on weekends/holidays.
