A 12km long beach runs from
Rocky Point to the west to Point Bell.
The beach is backed by active dunes extending from 1.5 km inland.
There is vehicle access to
Rocky Point and the rear of Point Bell, with 4WD access along the low gradient, white sand beach and out onto the point.
The safest swimming is in the calm waters in the lee of Point Bell, as rips dominate the more open central beach, with permanent rips toward
Rocky Point.
There are reef breaks off the point, and beach breaks along the main beach. The point attracts
rock fishers, with
the beach providing access to some of the central and eastern rip holes.
