Blinman was founded in 1859 with the discovery of copper. Three years later the commencement of copper mining began. At Blinman’s peak, the
population was over 1500, however these day, this peaceful settlement has a permanent
population of only 22, plus residents of the surrounding pastoral properties. Despite its small size, Blinman
services include a
General Store,
Post Office Agency, Wild Lime Café and Gallery, a Rural Transaction Centre, and the North Blinman Hotel, which provides accommodation and dining. Also, the
Blinman Mine is a popular visitor attraction with tours available below ground.
